Community lunch brings Chichester care home residents together
Residents from Chichester’s care homes were treated to lunch and entertainment as a complimentary community event organised by The Southern Co-operative.
Around 40 residents and carers from local care homes, including Nyton House, Augusta Court, Donnington House, Dovecote View and Boxgrove Alms Houses also enjoyed a flower arranging demo by The Southern Co-operative’s florist accompanied by singing and music.
The free event, held on 5 September, was hosted by Co-operative Funeralcare in Chichester, as Sector Manager Janis Williamson explained: “Being actively involved with our local community is very important to The Southern Co-operative and our Co-operative Funeralcare homes. We wanted to host an event here in Chichester to bring local people together, and it was lovely to meet our guests and their carers for a very sociable afternoon.”
Joyce Cramefield from Augusta Court said; “There has been a lovely feeling of community here today”, and Molly Farley from Donnington House Care Home added: “I have had a very nice relaxed time and thoroughly enjoyed myself!”
Chichester Co-operative Funeralcare home is in Kingsham Avenue.
