Community support is focus for Cosham’s new funeral branch
Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Cllr Lynne Stagg was joined by local VIPs to officially open a new branch of The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare in Cosham (21 May).
Guests included President of the National Association of Funeral Directors, Paul Cuthell, Chief Operating Officer for End of Life Services at The Southern Co-operative, Steve Pearce and representatives from local businesses in Cosham. The Chapel of Rest dedication service was led by parish minister Mother Juliet Straw and celebrant Felix Muscat.
Their support has included hamper donations for fundraising by St Colmans Catholic Church, Cosham Court nursing home, the local ‘Simon Says’ support group and the Neonatal Unit in Queen Alexandra Hospital.
The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare branch is located at 47 High Street in Cosham.
